Oxygen. It’s what gives us life. But we can’t always absorb enough of the right type of oxygen molecules to battle contaminants, infections, viruses, fungi, yeast, protozoa, and aging agents that prevail over our best efforts to stay healthy.
Sometimes we need a revved-up version of oxygen delivered directly to our tissue to deactivate these invaders and activate our immune system.
Enter Ozone (O3).
These 3 bonded oxygen molecules are colorless, odorless, and supercharged, because the 3rd one, when transported to organs and tissues, oxidizes and facilitates the removal of waste. While deactivating bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeast, and protozoa, it’s also stimulating oxygen metabolism, enabling the movement of nutrients, and activating the immune system.
Ozone was discovered in the mid-nineteenth century, but has been observed since mankind first looked up at the sky – in flashes of lightning and photochemical reactions of UV light on atmospheric oxygen (nature’s way of destroying decay that germs and bacteria thrive on). It’s been delivered for a variety of conditions in Germany since the 1950s, and continues to be a popular healing and anti-aging therapy throughout the European Union.
If you’ve been seeking natural antibiotics for infection, eating antiviral foods, researching allergic reaction treatment, or trying to heal a stubborn wound without optimal results, it might be time to try ozone therapy.
What Ozone Therapy Can Do for You
Low levels of oxygen lead to a major accumulation of lactic acid, which causes pain. By bringing oxygen and nutrients to your blood and tissues, you may:
- decrease inflammation
- stimulate circulation
- disinfect tissue
- support blood detoxification
- support liver detoxification
- activate the immune system
These biochemical changes can support conditions like:
- Lyme Disease & tickborne infections
- chronic Epstein Barr virus
- auto-immune diseases
- circulatory disorders
- infected wounds
- joint stiffness
- chronic fatigue and adrenal fatigue
- macular degeneration
- viral diseases like hepatitis B and C, shingles, cold sores, and flu
- diabetes – as therapy support
But you don’t need to wait until you’re struggling with these conditions.
Ozone therapy may be delivered as a preventive measure against infections, or to generate defenses against contaminants and stressors in recycled airplane oxygen, which weakens your immune system. Because it stimulates white blood cells and counteracts cell mutations, ozone can potentially stave off cancer cells.
Coupled with medical nutrition, ozone therapy has been prescribed as a powerful way to support weight loss alongside lifestyle changes. Ozone is one of the best available treatments we know of to improve mitochondrial function, antioxidant production, and fat loss due to oxidation and breakdown of fat cells.
How Is Ozone Therapy Delivered?
When you contact our office, our providers will assess your injuries, infections, and imbalances to make sure you’re a good candidate for ozone therapy, and you will receive a custom treatment plan from our Nurse Practitioner or Medical Doctor.
Then, depending on the type of condition you’re struggling with, they’ll determine whether to administer your treatment intravenously, rectally, or topically.
Each session lasts 20-45 minutes, during which you will relax in comfort. A successful protocol typically consists of 10 sessions.
Who is Not a Good Candidate for Ozone Therapy?
During a consult, we will determine if there are any contraindications to using ozone therapy. You should not receive ozone therapy if you are:
- internally or externally bleeding (including menstruation)
- struggling with chronic advanced diseases
